A mobile robot commonly utilized in manufacturing and logistics is known as an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), which moves materials and products without human drivers.

Older AGVs followed basic guidance, such as wires or magnetic tape, but modern AGVs utilize AI. They combine advanced systems, such as laser guidance, with machine learning to optimize paths in real time and actively avoid obstacles.

This AI integration enables them to navigate industrial spaces effectively and intelligently. AGVs are now the flexible core of Factory Automation (FA), essential for smooth material flow.

Their primary jobs include delivering parts to assembly lines (JIT) and optimizing the movement of items within warehouses.
