CCUS
Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) is a critical bridging and residual-mitigation technology for achieving Net Zero Manufacturing.
CCUS involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions directly from industrial sources, such as cement or steel plants, before they enter the atmosphere.
The captured CO2 is then either utilized to create valuable products (e.g., synthetic fuels or chemicals) or permanently stored deep underground in geological formations.
While CCUS is essential for neutralizing unavoidable process emissions, it must be deployed alongside maximized reduction efforts. It is a necessary tool, not a full solution.
