DMAIC is a data-driven strategy used primarily in the Six Sigma methodology to improve, optimize, and stabilize business processes.

It is an acronym representing the five phases of the continuous improvement cycle:

  1. Define: Clearly state the problem, the project goals, and the customer deliverables.
  2. Measure: Quantify the problem by collecting data on the current process performance (the baseline).
  3. Analyze: Identify the udnerlying facotrs contributing to flaws or inefficiencies.
  4. Improve: Implement and verify solutions to eliminate the root causes.
  5. Control: Standardize the new, improved process and monitor performance to sustain the gains.

This structured approach is essential for achieving predictable, high-quality results in both manufacturing and service industries.
