The cohort known as Generation Z, or Gen Z, encompasses individuals born from the mid-1990s to the early 2010s. This generation is the first to have grown up with ubiquitous digital technology, which has shaped their expectations for instant access to information, personalized experiences, and socially and environmentally responsible companies.

In manufacturing, this translates to significant implications. Gen Z's consumer behavior demands sustainable practices and ethical sourcing, prompting companies toward circular economy models and transparent supply chains. Furthermore, their comfort with technology makes them ideal candidates for a workforce that operates alongside automation and data-driven systems. They expect flexible, tech-integrated work environments, forcing the industry to rapidly upskill its workforce and adopt innovative manufacturing technologies to remain competitive.
