HID attacks

HID attacks (Human Interface Device attacks) are a critical vector where an attacker exploits devices, typically USBs, that are programmed to mimic legitimate input devices like keyboards or mice.

The threat lies in the fact that these "rogue devices" are trusted immediately by operating systems.

Once plugged in, they can rapidly inject malicious commands—keystrokes or scripts—to download malware, elevate privileges, or steal sensitive data, often completing the attack in mere seconds.

Therefore, preventing unauthorized physical access to ports and implementing robust USB device control policies are essential to mitigate this immediate and silent threat.
