# Net Zero Manufacturing

Net Zero Manufacturing is the holistic transformation of industrial processes to achieve an absolute net-zero balance of all [greenhouse gas (GHG)](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/ghg) emissions across the entire production lifecycle.

Net Zero Manufacturing moves beyond minimizing emissions from energy use ([Scope 2](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/scope-2)) to eliminating them from industrial processes ([Scope 1](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/scope-1)) and complex [supply chains](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/supply-chain) ([Scope 3](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/scope-3)).

This requires deep technological innovation, such as utilizing green hydrogen or electrolysis for high-heat processes and implementing [**Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)**](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/ccus).

The goal is to design manufacturing systems that are fundamentally regenerative and circular, ensuring the final product contributes zero environmental burden.
