# Non-Fossil Fuels

Non-fossil fuels are energy sources that do not come from geological fossil deposits and are essential for global [decarbonization](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/decarbonization).

They include renewables such as solar, wind, and hydro, as well as nuclear power and carbon-neutral carriers such as green hydrogen and biomass.
