TCFD
The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) offers a globally recognized framework for reporting climate-related risks and opportunities. Developed by the Financial Stability Board, it positions climate change as a core financial issue rather than a peripheral CSR matter.
The framework is structured around four pillars: Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Metrics and Targets.
Although the TCFD disbanded in 2023, its framework remains the "gold standard" through its integration into the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The ISSB’s global standards, particularly IFRS S2, fully adopt the TCFD’s four pillars. As a result, the TCFD’s voluntary recommendations have become mandatory global requirements under the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, making climate reporting as rigorous and transparent as financial accounting.
