Galvanized steel pipes are often referred to as white tubes because their surface appears white. In contrast, steel pipes that have not undergone [galvanizing](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/galvanizing) are called [**black tubes**](https://www.o2oh.com/glossary/black-tube) due to their dark, untreated surface.
