GHG

GHG refers to Greenhouse Gas emissions, a crucial metric that goes far beyond CO2. GHG is the total of all warming gases, while CO2 emissions are the most abundant component of those gases.

GHGs are atmospheric gases that trap heat, driving climate change. They include carbon dioxide (CO), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases (F-gases).

Since different gases have varying warming powers, all GHGs are measured in CO2 equivalent (CO2eq) to create a single, standardized unit.

This comprehensive approach is necessary because achieving the Net Zero goal under the Paris Agreement requires mitigating the impact of all warming agents, not just the most dominant one.
