Pre-Galvanizing

Pre-galvanizing describes the manufacturing process in which steel sheet—before its final formation, cutting, or deep drawing—undergoes surface treatment to receive a protective zinc coating.

This process is executed on flat strips, typically at high speeds and in large volumes.

The core advantage lies in the superior formability and uniformity of the resulting zinc layer. Because the coating thickness is precisely controlled and is thinner than that of traditional batch hot-dip methods, the material withstands significant mechanical deformation without cracking or flaking.

Although subsequent welding operations require local repair of the zinc layer, pre-galvanizing remains essential for cost-effective mass production in sectors that demand high geometric precision, such as the automotive industry.
