Bosh

The bosh is the conical section of a blast furnace, positioned above the tuyeres and below the belly.

It is the hottest zone, where iron and slag finish melting as they descend. The bosh must withstand extreme thermal loads and chemical erosion, requiring intensive cooling and high-grade refractory lining.
