Steel

Steel is scientifically defined as an iron alloy with carbon content below the theoretical 2.14% limit. In industry, this limit is often lowered (e.g., to 1.7%) to ensure superior weldability and toughness. Cast iron, containing over 2% carbon, is brittle when struck and is instead used by pouring its low-melting-point liquid into molds for final products.
