Data Sovereignty
Data sovereignty is the ability to exercise self-determination over digital assets. It focuses on technical and legal control, allowing the originator to define access, duration, and purpose of use through decentralized architectures such as IDS.
Data sovereignty addresses the governance of specific datasets, while digital sovereignty is a broader sociopolitical concept covering the entire technology stack, including infrastructure, hardware, and software.
Digital sovereignty aims to reduce reliance on foreign technology providers, whereas data sovereignty secures control over information within these systems.
